Olomok Ukigashi

Uncle of Heineman. He went to the Great Clam. He married one of the Gan.

Already, the nights were getting exceptionally restless. The night sky writhed with slow-broiling clouds of purple and orange. Intermittently, pods of the zogo zalth would drift across the grounds of the Salsa Soko Pelchis, their cold-burning auras glowing ice-white or blood-red. Watching those slow-floating needle-darts, Heineman thought of his Uncle Olomok, who dwelt with the Gan on the Great Clam, and made his way in the world by hunting that living steel.
In the past, Heineman had sometimes indulged in romantic fantasies about Olomok Ukigashi's hunting life, but now that Heineman was hunting himself, he found it singularly unpleasant. It was tedious to wait, concealed beneath the shapelessness of an improvised nightsack (as recommended by Atlanta's 'Cult of Assassins' comic book guide), saying nothing, moving nothing, and feeling increasingly cramped and weary. Heineman wished he could have gone back inside and left his men to it. [NoP Ch9]
